Groups & Social Events
A welcoming space for connection, community, and growth.
At Pathways to Healing & Connection, we offer weekly support groups and inclusive social events designed for the neurodivergent community. These offerings provide opportunities to build social skills, strengthen coping abilities, and form meaningful connections in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
All groups and events are facilitated by Melissa Hoon, LCSW.
Weekly Support Groups for Individuals with Autism
Our weekly therapy groups offer a consistent, supportive space for individuals with autism to practice socializing, develop communication skills, build emotional awareness, and strengthen problem-solving abilities. Groups meet every week with no set start or end date, allowing members to join when ready and grow at their own pace.
Hybrid Format
Groups are offered in a hybrid format to increase accessibility. Members may attend in person or virtually, and a projector setup allows in-person and online participants to fully engage with one another.
What to Expect
• A welcoming, structured environment
• Opportunities to connect with peers
• Support with communication and social skills
• Collaborative problem-solving
• Space to share experiences, thoughts, and challenges
• A group culture of acceptance, safety, and authenticity
Parent Check-Ins
Parents are invited to meet with Melissa four times per year for group updates, shared insights, and collaborative discussions that support the growth and progress of group members.
Autism-Friendly Social Events
In addition to weekly groups, we host autism-friendly social events to help individuals connect, have fun, and build community. These events are open to everyone—whether or not you attend a therapy group—and you do not need to be an individual therapy client to participate.
Our social events feature activities such as:
• Bingo
• Trivia
• Board games
• Crafts
• Seasonal and themed activities
The goal of these events is to create a warm, inclusive environment where individuals can explore interests, meet new people, and enjoy meaningful, low-pressure social interaction. New ideas are always welcome, and activities may change based on participant interests.
“Connection is why we’re here; it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.”
